How you can help to raise funds for the IRSS
Fund Raising and Sponsorship
If you are taking part in a fund raising event (the Flora Women's Mini Marathon for example) you can set up a page on Mycharity.ie where your friends can send their sponsorship using credit cards or PayPal. Simply log on to the IRSS page at mycharity.ie
At the bottom of the page click on "Create your Page" and follow the instructions to set up your fund raising page, then email the details to your friends asking them to support you. The Flora Women's Mini Marathon is an affiliated event.

Fundraising Suggestions
There are many ways in which you can help the IRSS to raise funds. By running a fundraising event, small or large, you will be helping the society to continue to provide information and support to everyone suffering from Raynaud's or scleroderma. Remember that information only seems to be free! Here are some ideas.
Coffee Morning
Invite your friends and family to join you for coffe and cakes, tell them about Raynaud's and scleroderma and ask them to make a small donation.
Cake Sale
Bake some cakes and biscuits, ask for donations of cakes, biscuits, buns, sweets and fancy goods or other items from your local shops and businesses and invite the neighbours in. Suggest that everyone brings one cake and buys another.
Car Boot Sale
Get rid of your clutter and any unwanted gifts and take them to your nearest car boot sale. Tidy up and raise money for IRSS at the same time!
Bridge/Whist/Beetle Drive
If you are a card player you might invite some friends to play cards for a couple of hours and give them light refreshements. Charge a small amount for each player, and offer a small prize for the winners. Your local businesses may donate a prize, or you could provide a small trophy which will cost very little to buy.
Raffle
Ask for donations of unwanted gifts which are still in their original wrapping, approach local retailers and businesses, friends and family for prizes. All you need now is a book of cloakroom tickets. The draw could be arranged to coincide with an event in your local club, or with your cake sale, bridge drive etc.
Brown Coin Collection
All the small coins that you find in your pockets or purse can be collected. Ask family and friends to help with the collection. Your local club might keep a box where members can put their small change. The amounts build up very quickly. As the saying goes, every little helps.
Donations instead of gifts
Do you have a birthday coming up? Do you already have everything you need? You could ask family and friends to make a donation to the IRSS instead of giving you presents. Or are you racking your brains to think of something to give to someone who already has everything? You could give them a gift of a donation to the IRSS which will help to make life more bearable for someone who is ill.
Other Ideas
A Poker Night, a Race Night or a Bingo Night are other ideas for raising funds, while having a lot of fun. Do you have other ideas for fundraising? Have you recently held a fundraising event? How did you go about it? How much did you make? Tell us about it, send us a photo; we would love to hear from you.
